Deputies: Marijuana factor in Allegan Co. crash; 2 injured

TROWBRIDGE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Deputies believe marijuana was a factor in a crash that critically injured two people in Allegan County Monday.

It happened around 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of M-40 and 102nd Avenue in Trowbridge Township, south of Allegan.

Deputies say a vehicle was heading eastbound on 102nd Avenue when the driver stop at the M-40 intersection. The driver failed to yield and pulled out in front of a southbound motorcycle.

Two people on the motorcycle were taken to the hospital where they are listed in critical condition. Both were not wearing helmets at the time, according to an Allegan County Sheriff's Office news release.

Investigators believe the at-fault driver was high on marijuana at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
