Ahead of Montana's special congressional election Thursday, GOP candidate Greg Gianforte is accused of body slamming Guardian reporter Ben Jacobs in Bozeman at a campaign volunteer BBQ.
Jacobs claims that his glasses were broken and that Gianforte was shouting at him.
He's running to fill a seat vacated by a member of the Trump administration US Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke.
Authorities were called to the scene where one person was taken away in an ambulance.
A statement by campaign spokesman Shane Scanlon blamed Jacobs for the incident.
