Police Investigating Shooting In Holland

At 11:58 AM on March 29, the Holland Department of Public Safety was  called to Holland Community Hospital to investigate an incident where a  patient had been shot in the chest.  Officers made contact with a 25  year old male who reported being shot in the chest during an attempted  robbery in the 300 block of Stratford Way in the City of Holland.  The  victim was sitting in his car with another 20 year old male parked near  the apartment complex when they were approached by the suspect.  The  suspect demanded items from the victim and then fired one round from a  handgun striking the victim in the chest.  The 25 year old victim drove  himself to Holland Community Hospital and was treated and releaased for a  non-life threathening injury.  

 The suspect left the scene in an unknown direction and is described as a black  male, 18-22 years old, 5'9 - 5'11, medium build, with hair in  dreadlocks.  The suspect was last seen wearing a black baseball hat,  black jacket and black Addidas pants.

 The incident remains under investigation and anyone who may  have information in reference to this investigation is requested to  contact the Holland Department of Public Safety at (616) 355-1100.
