The roommate of the couple murdered in Wyoming says the couple used to use Craigslist for hookups in exchange for money.
McKenzi Hallo told WOOD TV, "...Charlie would sometimes have her get on Craigslist or whatever, if not she would post something for him or he would just always take her."
Hallo wasn't sure if this was a regular gig, "She said, you know, they would go and meet up and stuff and normally they would do stuff in the car. And Charlie would just either sit in the front seat and wait, or he joined."
Oppenneer's ex and mom of his two kids has a different story to tell: she says it's not true.
"No, never and that's why I know it's not true. If I've known him for five years, I would have known that part of him. And it's not who he is," Allecia Avery told reporters, "We've heard that Charlie forced her [Brooke Slocum] to sell herself on Craigslist and that's not true. She was posting ads before she even met Charlie."
Police said Brady Oestrike had connected with Slocum through a Craigslist ad last Saturday.
Police Friday were releasing little about Oestrike, 31, of Wyoming, or the motive behind the killings of Charlie Oppenneer and Oppenneer’s girlfriend, Brooke Slocum, who was 8 months pregnant.
Oestrike committed suicide after crashing his car on the Burton Street SW bridge over US-131 in Grand Rapids Thursday night, police said during a news conference Friday morning
Family member of the man suspected of killing a Wyoming couple before killing himself say the ma must have "snapped."
"I’m totally in shock," said Brady Oestrike’s sister, Barbara Miling, of Dorr. She told WOOD TV "I know everyone is portraying him as a monster, but he wasn’t a monster."
