Walker Residents Object to Salvation Army Proposal for Fairview Elementary
Posted September 27th, 2013 @ 4:49am by WOOD Radio News Team

Neighbors in Walker seemed to make it very clear to the Salvation Army that they do not want the Turning Point drug rehab program moved into a vacant school building near them. The crowd packed a meeting the Salvation Army had organized to talk about it.

The Salvation Army is not yet ready to buy the old Fairview Elementary school and now knows it would be, at least locally, an unpopular move if it did.

WOOD TV reported that neighbors were worried about addicts leaving the rehab center and robbing nearby homes.
