A high school math teacher in Arizona was removed from the classroom for being drunk -- the second such offense in less than five years

Katherine Jardine, a 57-year-old teacher at Poston Butte High School, was removed from campus after her math students smelled something funny. Initially denying she had drank, authorities later removed her from the class for investigation.

She blew a 0.205 on a breathalyzer. In her purse, officials found a half-full 750 ml bottle of vodka and a single serving of wine.

"Learning math can be hard enough," Sheriff Paul Babue said. "I can’t imagine trying to learn it from a drunk teacher."

Jarden was fired as the math teacher from a New Mexico high school in 2001 for being drunk on the job.
