A Southwest Michigan high school basketball coach and his cousin have been arraigned after they were both convicted of having sex with a student.

WOOD TV reports 23-year-old Adrian Ledesma is the coach of Bloomingdale High School's boy's junior varsity basketball team, and was arraigned on July 11th. His cousin, 24-year-old Jaimie Ledesma II was also arraigned in Allegan County District Court.

Michigan State Police troopers began investigating last month after a student's parents found inappropriate text messages on their daughter's cell phone.

Authorities determined she had been communicating with Adrian Ledesma, who the teenager met while attending Bloomingdale High School where he was coaching. Police also said she had a second alleged inappropriate relationship with Adrian Ledesma’s cousin, Jaime Ledesma II.

Officials say none of the sexual encounters between the men and the student were at Bllomingdale High School.

Police urge anyone with information on the case to contact the Michigan State Police, Paw Paw Post at 269.657.5551.
