Reportedly, at least one teacher contract in effect in Michigan today demands that management give "special consideration" to applicants who are "non-Christian".

It is the conservative think-tank the Mackinac Center for Public Policy which has been going through contracts statewide and reportedly found  six-of-every-ten teacher contracts has at least one illegal provision.

In Ferndale Public Schools, after a paragraph asserting the public schools shall not discriminate, the Center quotes a paragraph that says teachers being promoted to vacant positions may have their religious faiths questioned.

The Center says this appears to violate both state and federal laws.
