Man Accused of Animal Cruelty Says He was Ending Cat's Misery
Posted April 11th, 2014 @ 3:47pm

A Cedar Springs man faces a preliminary hearing Monday, April 21st for a felony charge of animal cruelty causing death.

Police say 35-year-old Michael Stackhouse admitted to stomping on a cat's head on Monday, purportedly to put the animal out of its misery.

That cat had jumped into a home at the Cedar Springs Mobile Estates, according to the homeowner. She called police, saying the cat started fighting with her two dogs before it was thrown into the street.

That's where Stackhouse, the homeowner's husband, says the cat was twitching from seizures before he killed it in front of some kids and some neighbors.
