Hundreds of furloughed Michigan National Guard technicians are being called back to worked today.

Federal employees and guard members were put on furlough last week after Congress failed to reach an agreement on the budget. But 900 Michigan Guard technicians were ordered to report to work this morning.

The call back is the result of legislation passed over the weekend known as Pay Our Military Act.

The federal government shutdown has left thousands of federal employees considered "non-essential" without work in Michigan. Reportedly, training also has been put on hold for 12,000 guardsmen.
