If fishing is your thing, or even if it's not, this is the weekend to do it. Saturday and Sunday the state is holding its annual Summer Free Fishing Weekend.

Elyse Walter, Communication Specialist with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources tells WOOD Radio Free Fishing Weekend is something the state does twice a year

"You can fish any water-body in the state. All rules and regulations still apply this weekend, you just don't need to purchase a fishing license.

Numerous free fishing weekend activities are scheduled at state parks and fish hatcheries, while sporting clubs and conservation groups stage events as well in more than 25 Michigan counties.
