Church Gives Hot Meals for Cold Middleville Residents

Members of the Middleville United Methodist Church came out on Christmas to make a hot meal for the people staying in the Red Cross warm-up shelter at the Middle School.

Many of the warming shelters in Michigan have been closed as the power companies have gotten electricity turned back on but many, many thousands still do not have power even yet this morning.

The Red Cross says ten people stayed at the Middleville Shelter.

Barry County was the hardest-hit in Sunday's Michigan ice storm and still has more than 12-thousand homes without power.

Consumer's Energy counted 116-thousand powerless customers statewide, last night.

Consumers Energy company reminds its customers who may still be in the dark that there is a rebate program for anyone who's power has been out for five days (120 hours).
