Allegan County deputies are looking for a hit-and-run driver who injured a Lee Township woman Thursday night.

Investigators say Rachel Kreiger had been traveling northbound on 60th Street north of 106th Avenue when they believe she stopped her car and got out to help a cat in the road.

Some time after, another driver came upon Kreiger's vehicle still running with the driver door open.  That driver then found Kreiger in the road and called 911.

Deputies say evidence from the crash suggests a late 80's or 90's-model Chevy or GM pick-up or SUV hit Kreiger and lost a headlight and turn-signal assembly.

Authorities believe Kreiger had stopped to help a cat, because they found a wet cat in her vehicle.  Her mother said the family does not own a cat.
