An alternative sentencing program called EXIT is being established for the courts in Muskegon County. A similarly-named program is operating in Ohio.
The Muskegon EXIT program will be run by the "70-times-7 Life Recovery" non-profit group from the city of Holland, which has been helping ex-convicts find jobs and get back into society.
Executive Director Brian Vork told WOOD TV that the program tries to keep convicts united with their young children.
"70-times-7" has gotten $2 million from the federal government for the Muskegon EXIT program and expects to start it in October.
